9. Luke HOWARD [ Parents ]. Born 7/6/1853 in Holmfirth and baptized 30/10/1853 in Holy Trinity Church, Holmfirth, Luke died around February 1899 in Delph, Saddleworth, age 45. He was buried 4/3/1899 in St Thomas, Friarmere, Saddleworth. Occupation: Woollen warper. On 3/10/1889, when Luke was age about 36, he married Alice BOTTOMLEY in St Thomas, Friarmere. Alice was born 13/3/1853 in Delph and was baptized 24/8/1853 in St Chad, Saddleworth, She died July 1926 in Delph, age 73, and was buried 13/7/1926 in St Thomas, Friarmere. They had the following children, both born in Delph: (1) James Thomas , born 29/1/1891 and baptized 1/2/1891 in St Thomas, Friarmere. He died February 1936 in Delph, age 45, and was buried 22/2/1936 in St Thomas, Friarmere. (2) Elsie , born 13/3/1893 and baptized 30/4/1893 in St Thomas, Friarmere. She died about April 1951 in Delph, age 58, and was buried 2/5/1951 in St Thomas, Friarmere. 10. Vincent HOWARD [ Parents ]. Born 27/10/1855 in Holmfirth and baptized 12/4/1857 in St David, Holme Bridge. Vincent died November 1911 in Stockport, age 55. He was buried 22/11/1911 in St Thomas, Friarmere. Occupation: Felt hatter. On 3/5/1883, when Vincent was age about 27, he married Sarah Jane BRIERLEY in St Thomas, Friarmere. Born about 1857 in Delph, Sarah Jane died around January 1933 in Stockport, age 76. She was buried 4/2/1933 in St Thomas, Friarmere. They had the following children, both born Delph: (1) Henrietta Maria , born 13/9/1884 and died June 1963 in Bradford, age 78. She was buried 20/6/1963 in St Thomas, Friarmere. In 1923, when Henrietta was age 39, she married Francis C. WILLIAMS in Stockport. It is not known when Francis was born or died. (2) Adeline Brierley , born 28/3/1890 and died 1979 in Staincliffe, North Yorkshire, age 89. In 1916, when Adeline was age 26, she married Leopold LOMAS (1889-1962) in Stockport. 11. Lister HOWARD [ Parents ]. Born 26/8/1857 in Holmfirth and baptized 27/12/1857 in St David, Holmbridge. Lister died 1933 in Stockport, Cheshire, age about 75. Occupation: Felt hatter. On 24/6/1890, when Lister was age about 32, he married Mary Jane WRIGLEY , daughter of John WRIGLEY and Alice GARTSIDE , in St Thomas, Friarmere, Saddleworth. Born 1862 in Delph, it is not known when Mary Jane died. They had the following children, all born Stockport: (1) Clement [ 16 ] . (2) Herbert [ 17 ] . (3) Albert , born 24/1/1900 and died April 1970 in Pompano Beach, Broward, Florida, USA. On 25/9/1919 Albert had arrived in New York from Southampton, on board the Lapland. He was naturalized in 1926. On 16/7/1927 Albert married Anna JOHANNSEN (1897-?) in Kings, New York City. There’s no evidence they had any children. 12. Harry HOWARD [ Parents ]. Born 29/3/1872 in Delph and baptized 5/5/1872 at St Chad, Saddleworth. Harry died 23/12/1922 in Manchester, age 50. Occupation: Boot and shoe maker. Thanks to Edward Howard for the pictures. Click/tap an image to enlarge . On 12/7/1909, when Harry was age 37, he married Ethel Hunter PEARSON in St John’s Parish Church, Old Trafford, Manchester. Ethel was born 2/8/1883 in Hulme, Manchester and was baptized 10/10/1883 in St Michael, Hulme. Ethel died 14/3/1955 in Kingston upon Thames, Surrey, age 71. Cause of death certified as Cardiac failure; Chronic bronchitis and emphysema; Asthma. An entry in the National Probate Calendar reads: “HOWARD Ethel Hunter of 43 Hollybush Road Kingston-upon-Thames widow died 14 March 1955 Probate London 7 May to Norman Howard general store keeper and Olive Ethel Howard spinster. Effects £2325 7s. 10d.” (Worth around £64,400 today.) They had the following children: (1) Norman , born 26/6/1910 in Manchester and died 16/6/1955 in Salford, age 44. (2) Olive Ethel , born 5/2/1912 in Manchester and died 13/10/1987 in Bridport, Dorset, age 75.
