21. William PARRIS [ Parents ]. Born about 1851 in Halling, William died 28/1/1903 in Belvedere, age about 52. Occupation: Metropolitan Police Constable. An entry in the National Probate Calendar reads: “PARRIS William of Hythe Cottage Raglan Road Belvedere Kent died 28 January 1903 Probate London 12 February to Emma Parris widow Effects £199 8s.” (Worth around £31,840 today.) Tap/click images to enlarge . On 16/1/1870, when William was age 19, he married Emma TAYLOR in All Saints, Birling. Emma was born about 1853 in Dartford and died 10/7/1928 in Belvedere, age about 76. She was buried 14/7/1928 in Erith cemetery. An entry in the National Probate Calendar reads "PARRIS Emma of Hythe Cottage 4 Raglan Road Belvedere Kent widow died 10 Jul 1928 Probate Lewes 28 July to Ada Parris spinster. Effects £379 2s. 9d." (Worth around £31,000 today.) They had the following children: (1) Emma , born about 1872 in Halling and died about January 1922 in Belvedere. She was buried 12/1/1922 in Erith Cemetery. In 1898, when Emma was age about 26, she married William James FRYER (1863-1940) in Dartford. (2) Ada , born 13/12/1873 in Southwark and baptized 5/7/1882 in All Saints, Belvedere. She died 13/8/1945 in Barnehurst, age 71 and was buried 17/8/1945 in Erith Cemetery. Ada never married. (3) William [ 41 ] . (4) Alfred John , born 28/4/1878 in 3 Grosvenor Cottages, Lessness Heath, Erith. Alfred John died about Nov 1878 and was buried 2/12/1878 in St John the Baptist, Erith. (5) Lily , born 26/11/1879 in Erith and baptized 5/7/1882 at All Saints, Belvedere. She died 1/10/1939 in Ormonde House, Belvedere, age 59 and was buried 5/10/1939 in Erith Cemetery. In 1903, when Lily was age 23, she married Arthur George BOX (1880-1917) in Lewisham. They had three children: William George (1903-1979); Charles Frederick (1906- 1911); Harold Arthur (1909-?). In 1922, when Lily was age 42, she married Henry William STENING (1862-1952) in Lewisham. (6) Ethel Maud , born 20/3/1883 in Belvedere and baptized 21/2/1884 in All Saints, Belvedere. She died about 1964 in Sussex, age about 81. On 30/12/1905, when Ethel was age 22, she married William George TAYLOR (1884-1946) in the Baptist Chapel, Lewisham. They had two children: George Stanley (1907-1950) and Margaret Hilda (1910-2003). (7) Mabel Sarah , born 30/4/1885 in Belvedere and baptized 14/10/1885 in All Saints, Belvedere. She died 26/4/1959 in Dartford, age 73, and was buried 30/4/1959 in Greenwich. In 1906, when Mabel was age 20, she married Wilfred FOLEY (1883-1970) in Dartford. They had two children: Wilfrid (1906-1978) and Amy Florence (1917-2001). 22. Thomas PARRIS [ Parents ]. Born 1853 in Halling, Thomas died about August 1892, age 39. He was buried 6/8/1892 in Halling. On 4/8/1884 when Thomas  was 31, he married Rhoda TOMKIN , daughter of George Richard TOMKIN and Ansley TAPP , in Halling. Rhoda was born 1865 and died February 1940, age about 74. She was buried 8/2/1940 in Halling. They had the following children: (1) Edward Thomas [ 42 ] . (2) Arabella Frances , born 1888 in Halling and died May 1905, age 17. She was buried 15/5/1905 in Halling. (3) Alfred George , born 1890 in Halling and died 1894, age 4. He was buried 2/8/1894 in Upper Halling. (4) Albert William , born 29/3/1892 in Halling. On 8/1/1916, when Albert William was age about 24, he married Annie Clara EXCELL (1892-?) at the Parish Church, Halling. 23. James PARRIS [ Parents ]. Born 21/5/1857 in Halling, James died 25/5/1938, age 81. Occupation: Bootmaker. In 1879, when James was age 22, he married Ellen Elizabeth DAWSON (nee Sacker) in Dartford. Born about 1843 in Hastings, Ellen died sometime between 1881 and 1882. They had the following child: (1) Richard John [ 43 ] . In 1883, when James was age 26, he married Minnie RAINER in Woolwich. Minnie was born about 1864 in Tunbridge and died 1900 in Dartford, age 37. They had the following children, all born Belvedere: (1) Phyllis , born  about 1884. (2) Minnie , born about 1886. (3) James , born 1887. (4) Vivien , born about 1889. (5) Winifred Hilda , born 1891. (6) Arthur Albert , born about 1897. On 31/3/1902, when James was age 44, he married Lily PETERS , daughter of Thomas PETERS , a Plasterer, in the Parish Church, Erith. Lily was born 15/12/1880 in Crayford and died 21/5/1923, age 42. They had the following children, both born in Belvedere: (1) Lily Irene , born 22/2/1903 and died 24/3/1987, age 84. (2) Doris , born 2/2/1910 and died 28/11/1998, age 88. In 1924, when James was age about 67, he married Ellen DUDLEY . They had one child who may still be living. 24. Richard John PARRIS [ Parents ]. Born 1859 in Halling, Richard died there in 1942, age 83. He was buried 13/8/1942 in Halling cemetery. Occupation: Chalk labourer. In 1880, when Richard John was age 21, he married Eliza Jane CAPON in Malling. Eliza was born about 1859 in Snodland and died in April 1913, age about 54. She was buried 12/4/1913 in Halling cemetery. They had the following children: (1) Richard Ernest , born 1882 in Snodland. (2) Ebenezer Thomas [ 44 ] . (4) Frederick Charles Knight , born 1886 in Birling and died around October 1926 in Halling, age 40. In 1918, when Frederick was age 32, he married his 1st cousin (once removed) Beatrice NEVILLE (1884-1973), daughter of John NEVILLE and Esther PARRIS . (5) Daisy Eliza , born about 1888 in Birling and died 1918 in Maidstone, age about 30. (6) Ruth Rebecca , born 1889 in Birling. (7) Elsie Jane , born 1891 in Birling and died 1901, age about 10. (8) Herbert Capon , born 24/8/1892 in Birling and died 1949 in Maidstone, age about 56. In 1922, when Herbert was age 30, he married Constance Elizabeth ROSE (1896-1967) in Maidstone. (9) William Leonard [ 45 ] . (10) Edith Naomi , born about 1900 in Snodland.
