23. Robert CHAPPLE [ Parents ]. Born 1726 and died about February 1817, age 91, in Axminster. Robert was buried 11/2/1817 in Membury. On 16/4/1759 when Robert was 33, he married Ann CHARLES , in Axminster. Born in 1730, Ann died in July 1804 in Membury, age 74, and was buried there 10/7/1804. They had the following children: (1) Robert [ 32 ] . (2) Henry [ 33 ] . (3) John [ 34 ] . (4) William , born 1766. (5) Richard , baptized 17/4/1768 in Membury. (6) Ann , born 1773. 24. Joel CHAPPLE [ Parents ]. Born 1734 and died in 1810, age 76. On 29/8/1765 when Joel was age about 31, he married Joan BAKER in Dalwood. Joan was born 1737. It is not known when she died. They had the following child: (1) Aseneth , born 1766. Asenath or Aseneth was an Egyptian name, meaning "gift of the sun-god". In the Old Testament, Aseneth was daughter of Potipherah, priest of On or Heliopolis, wife of Joseph (Genesis 41:45) and mother of Manasseh and Ephraim (50-52; 46:20). 25. John CHAPPLE [ Parents ]. John’s baptism and death dates are unknown. John married Mary , (date and maiden name unknown). They had the following children: (1) John, born 1780. In 1805 when John was 25, he married Esther GRACE . (2) Francis , born 1787. (3) Thomas [35] . 26. William CHAPPLE [ Parents ]. Baptized 27/6/1737 in Colyton and died 1800, age about 63. In 1769, when William was age about 32, he married Ann SALTER . It’s not known when Ann was born, but she died in 1795. They had the following children: (1) Henry [36] . (2) Betty , born 1769. (3) Amos , born on 14/6/1772 in Colyton and baptized there 16/8/1772. Amos died in February 1844 in Colyton, age 71, and was buried there 2/3/1844. On 26/5/1808 when Amos was 35, he married Elizabeth GODFREY . There’s no evidence they had any children. (4) Nancy , born 1777 27. Henry CHAPPLE [ Parents ]. It’s not known when Henry was born, but he died in May 1805 in Colyton and was buried there 10/5/1805. The burial record does not give his age at time of death. On 18/2/1764, Henry married Elizabeth JOY , in Colyton. It’s not known when Elizabeth was born, but she died 8/4/1809 in Colyton and was buried there 12/4/1809. They had the following children: (1) William [37] . (2) Mary , born 6/12/1766. (3) Ann , born 7/8/1767. (4) Betty , born 1/4/1769. (5) Esther , born 7/12/1770 in Membury. It’s not known when Esther died. On 9/8/1802, when Esther was age 31, she married Richard HOOPER in Membury. (6) Henry , born 1/3/1773 in Colyton and baptized there 11/3/1773. Henry died 1/4/1773, age 1 month and was buried 6/4/1773. (7) Samuel , born 29/5/1779. Samuel died 28/2/1798, age 18. (8) Richard [38] . 28. Amos CHAPPLE [ Parents ]. Born about 1740 (if age recorded at time of burial is accurate) and baptized 27/9/1747 in Dalwood. Amos died in July 1825 in Colyton and was buried there 7/7/1825, his age given as 85. On 2/7/1777, when Amos was age about 36, he married Susannah WATTS in Shute. It’s not known when Susannah was born or died. They had the following children: (1) Anthony , born 1777. (2) John Watts , born 1777. (3) Mary , born 1784. (4) William , born 1788. (5) William , born 1792.
