9. James BRADBURY [ Parents ]. Baptized 20/2/1763 in St Chad, Saddleworth, it is not known when James died. He lived at Runninghill. On 15/5/1788, when James was age about 25, he married Betty BUCKLEY , of Thurnstone Clough, in St Chad,. Betty’s baptism and death dates are not known. They had the following children, all baptized St Chad: (1) Mally , baptized 16/10/1788. (2) Hannah , baptized 6/6/1790 and died 21/8/1817, age about 27. (3) Betty , baptized 8/1/1792. (4) James , baptized 9/11/1794. (5) John , baptized 5/2/1797. (6) James , baptized 91/11/1798. (7) Sarah , baptized 21/4/1799. (8) Sarah , baptized 5/1/1800. (9) Betty , baptized 23/8/1803. (10) Simeon [ 15 ] . 10. John BRADBURY [ Parents ]. Baptized 2/3/1766 in St Chad, Saddleworth, John died about March 1848, age 82, and was buried there on 29/3/1848. Lived at Runninghill Head. On 7/5/1798, when John was age about 32, he married Anne PLATT in St Chad, Saddleworth. Anne was born about 1773 and died January 1816. She was buried in St Chad 15/1/1816, the day before her son Joseph’s baptism They had the following children, all baptized St Chad: (1) Thomas , baptized 22/6/1804. (2) Simon [ 16 ] . (3) Reuben [ 17 ] . (4) John [ 18 ] . (5) Joseph , baptized 16/1/1816. 11. William BRADBURY [ Parents ]. Baptized 1/11/1767 in St Chad, Saddleworth. It is not known when William died but it was before 1844 when his wife was described as a widow in her burial record. On 23/8/1790, when William was age about 23, he married Betty PLATT , daughter of Joseph and Betty PLATT , in St Chad. Betty was baptized 1/2/1767 in St Chad and was buried there on 8/1/1844. They had the following children, all baptized St Chad: (1) James , baptized 6/2/1791. (2) William [ 19 ] . (3) Hannah , baptized 6/11/1794. (4) Sarah , baptized 12/2/1797. (5) John , baptized 9/12/1798. 12. John BRADBURY [ Parents ]. Baptized 18/8/1765 in St Chad, Saddleworth, John died July 1841, age about 75, and was buried there on 20/7/1841. Of Ryefields, according to 1841 census. On 1/3/1789, when John was age about 24, he married Sarah RHODES , in St Chad. Sarah was baptized 25/10/1767 in St Chad and was buried there on 3/10/1839. They had the following children, all baptized St Chad: (1) Joseph [ 20 ] . (2) John , baptized 1/1/1792 and died 18/9/1854. John married Esther (1802-1829, maiden name unknown). In 1844, when John was age about 51, he married Betty BUCKLEY (1815-1860), daughter of John BUCKLEY and Hannah BRADBURY . John Bradbury was Hannah’s 2nd cousin, once removed, as well as her son-in-law. (3) Ralph [ 21 ] . (4) Matty , baptized 12/11/1797. (5) Joseph , baptized 24/8/1800. (6) Mary , baptized 20/8/1803. (7) Sarah , baptized 20/4/1806 and died about 1870. 13. James BRADBURY [ Parents ]. Baptized 14/2/1768 in St Chad, Saddleworth, James died November 1839, age 71, and was buried there on 19/11/1839. On 4/6/1789, when James was age about 21, he married Sarah RHODES , in St Chad. Born about 1770, Sarah was buried in St Chad on 13/8/1841. They had the following children, all baptized St Chad: (1) William [ 22 ] . (2) Mary , baptized 13/5/1792. (3) Sarah , baptized 24/8/1794. (4) Benjamin [ 23 ] . (5) Ratcliffe [ 24 ] . (6) Esther , baptized 14/2/1801 and died about 1816, age 15. (7) Ann , baptized 22/4/1804 and buried 5/5/1818, age 14. (8) Hannah , baptized 9/3/1806. On 21/3/1830 Hannah married John BUCKLEY , in Saddleworth. (9) Betty , baptized 8/5/1808. (10) James , baptized 2/9/1810 and buried 9/1/1835 in Montreal, Canada, age 25. (11) Joel , baptized 7/6/1812 and buried 18/11/1864, age 52. (12) Amelia , baptized 28/8/1814. 14. James Bradbury [ Parents ]. Baptized 22/10/1786 in St Chad, Saddleworth, James died 14/1/1847, age 61, and was buried 14/1/1847 in St Thomas, Friarmere, Saddleworth. On 24/10/1827, when James was age 41, he married Mary SHAW in St Chad. Born about 1791, Mary died 18/11/1829 in New Delph, Saddleworth, age about 38. She was buried 23/22/1829 in St Thomas, Friarmere, Saddleworth. They one child: (1) James , baptized 10/5/1829 in St Chad and died 5/3/1871 in Wood's Hotel, Furnival's Inn, Middlesex, age about 41. He never married. The inscription on the family grave in St Thomas, Friarmere reads: "Sacred to the memory of Mary the wife of James Bradbury of New Delph, woolstapler, who departed this life November 18th 1829 aged 38 years. Also of the above James Bradbury of Huddersfield (to which place he had removed and was here interred) who departed this life January 14th 1847 aged 60 years. Also of James Bradbury of Huddersfield (their only child) a Magistrate of the West Riding and Lieutenant Colonel of the 34th West Riding of Yorkshire Rifle Volunteers who departed this life 5th March 1871 a Batchelor aged 41 years. Here also lie the remains of Ann Gartside who died on the 23rd day of May 1866 aged 70 years after a faithful and valued service of 50 years in their family. She was the daughter of James Gartside of Denshaw and never married"
