94. Thornhill George CHAPPLE [ Parents ]. Born 28/12/1897 in Swansea, Glamorgan, Thornhill died 21/7/1951 in Bournemouth, Hampshire, age 53. On 28/3/1920, when Thornhill was age 22, he married Evelyn EVANS in Morriston, Glamorgan. Born 8/8/1898, Evelyn died 1976 in Reading, Berkshire, age about 77. They had the following children: (1) Margaret , born 12/10/1923 and died 8/1/1997, age 73. (2) Alice , born 5/11/1925 and died 30/11/1997, age 72. (3) Ernest , born 1927 and died 5/2/1942, age about 15.  And 2 children who are still living. 95. Arthur Ernest CHAPPLE [ Parents ]. Born 3/10/1895 in Edmonton, London, Arthur Ernest died 3/5/1983 in Chedoke General Hospital, Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, age 87. Buried 6/5/1983 in Whitechapel Memorial Gardens, Hamilton, Ontario. On 4/8/1928 when Arthur Ernest was 32, he married Marguerite Helen HANNAH , daughter of Albert HANNAH and Maria TRUESDALE , in Hamilton, Ontario. Born 29/6/1895 in Winchester, Massachusetts, USA, Marguerite Helen died 24/11/1982 in Henderson General Hospital, Hamilton, Ontario, age 87. Buried 26/11/1982 in Whitechapel Memorial Gardens, Hamilton, Ontario. They had the following children: (1) Marguerite Mary , born 6/9/1932 in Hamilton, Ontario and died 1989. On 25/10/1952 she married Leonard Earl HANNAH , who died 1990. And 2 children who are still living. 96. William Henry CHAPPLE [ Parents ]. Born 3/11/1902 in London, William Henry died 21/3/1971 in Hamilton, Ontario, age 68. On 17/6/1920, when William Henry was age 17, he married Williamina KNIGHT in Canada. Williamina died 30/1/1983. They had the following children: (1) Albert . (2) Catherine . (3) Elizabeth . 97. Charles George William CHAPPLE [ Parents ]. Born 3/2/1910 in St Pancras, London, Charles George William died 31/5/1971, age 61. On 6/6/1936 when Charles George William was 26, he married Rose Joan JUPP in Lewisham. Born 26/4/1916, Rose Joan died 29/8/1994, age 78. They had the following children: (1) Keith John , born 26/8/1941 in Catford and died 24/3/2014 in Stockport, age 72. (2) Avril Jean , born 12/10/1945 and died 23/10/1945. And 2 others still living. 98. Frederick Albert CHAPPLE [ Parents ]. Born 14/7/1912 in Shoreditch, London,  Frederick died 16/11/1992, in Wandsworth, age 80. In 1939, when Frederick was age 27, he married Irene COHEN , daughter of Morris COHEN and Edith JONES , in Lewisham. Born 10/3/1918 in Liverpool, Irene died 16/10/1994 in Wandsworth, age 76. They had 9 children who are still living. 99. Robert James CHAPPLE [ Parents ]. Born 9/3/1870 in Beer, Robert James died there 14/9/1948 , age 78. Occupation: Fisherman. An entry in the National Probate Calendar reads: “CHAPPLE Robert James of 6 Seaview Beer Devonshire died 14 September 1948 Administration (with Will) Exeter 22 October to George Henry Chapple baker and confectioner and Francis James Chapple house furnisher. Effects £703 9s. 1d.” (Worth around £29,315 today.) On 22/2/1896, when Robert James was 26, he married Elizabeth Ann BARTLETT , daughter of Francis BARTLETT , a fisherman, in St Michael, Beer. Born 22/3/1868 in Beer, Elizabeth Ann died 1940, age 72. They had the following children, all born and baptized in Beer: (1) George Henry , baptized 4/7/1897 and died 13/6/1963 in Rainow Nursing Home, St Georges Road, Cheltenham, age about 66. (2) Percy Harold , baptized 2/4/1899 and died 15/8/1947 in Bristol, age 48. (3) Norman James , born 16/4/1901 and baptized 12/5/1901. Norman James died 5/8/1941, age 40, at sea due to enemy action. In 1925, when Norman James was age 25, he married Dorothea Helen HOOPER (1901-1986) in Beer. (4) Francis James , born 21/5/1904, baptized 10/7/1904 and died 29/8/1991, age 87. An entry in the National Probate Calendar reads: “CHAPPLE Francis James of Flat 1 Overmass Hse Queen St Seaton Devon died 29 August 1991 Probate Bristol 9 December £37742.” (Worth around £91,336 today.) In 1927, when Francis James was age 23, he married Lilian Dorothy WHITE (1904-1988) in Axminster. (5) Clifford John , born 31/3/1906 and baptized 6/5/1906. Clifford died 3/7/1976 in Beer, age 70. (6) Arthur Edward , born 11/4/1908 and baptized 7/6/1908. Arthur died about March 1911 and was buried 4/4/1911 at St Michael, Beer. (7) The 1911 census suggests one further child died in infancy. He/she has yet to be identified.
