4. William HARRIS [ Parents ]. Baptized 29/3/1835 in Halling, William died in 1896, also in Halling, age 60. In 1858, when William was age about 23, he married Mary Ann PRYER . Born in 1839 in West Malling, Mary Ann died 1896 in Halling, age about 58. They had the following children, all born in Halling: (1) William John [ 9 ] . (2) John , born 25/7/1861. It is not known when he died. On 26/7/1879, when John was age 18, he married Martha ACCLETON (1861-1957) in the Parish Church, Luddesdown. They had no children. (3) Thomas , born 1863. (4) Alfred [ 10 ] . (5) Eliza , born 1866 and died 1867. (6) Hannah , born 1868 and died 1875, age about 6. (7) Arthur , born 1870 and died 1875, age about 5. (8) Matilda , born in 1872. On 30/1/1890, when Matilda was age 18, she had a child Louisa Bessie HARRIS . Louisa’s father is unknown. Louisa lived with her uncle, John, until her marriage in 1912 to Edward Albert DATLEN (1889-1969). See John’s 1891, 1901, 1911 census entries. On 27/11/1890, when she was age about 18, Matilda married Henry Philip TASKER (1854-1909) in Halling. (9) Henry John , born 1874. (10) Louisa , born 1878. (11) Mark , born and died 1880. 5. Henry HARRIS [ Parents ]. Born 1859 in Snodland, it is not known when Henry died. Occupation: Labourer. On 25/12/1887, when Henry was age 28, he married Frances GOODHEW , daughter of Richard GOODHEW , in Snodland. Frances was born 1868 in Ryarsh. It is not known when she died. They had the following children, all born Snodland: (1) Elizabeth Daisy , born about 1889. (2) Violet , born May 1893. (3) Lily , born about 1894. (4) Henry , born May 1895. (5) Albert Henry , born 1900. (6) Rose Hannah , born 1906. (7) Jack , born about 1907. 6. Amos Henry HARRIS [ Parents ]. Born 24/1/1866 in Snodland, Amos died 1944 in Maidstone, age 78. Occupation: Labourer; Ferry man. On 31/7/1897, when Amos Henry was age 21, he married Harriett Frances EVANS in All Saints Church, Birling. Harriett Frances was born about 1875 in Dunks Green, Wrotham and died in 1916 in Maidstone, age 39. They had the following children, all born Snodland: (1) John Thomas Henry , born 1/12/1895 and died in 1976 in Chatham, age 80. (2) Henry Amos , born 16/9/1897 and died in 1965 in Chatham, age 68. (3) Walter Arthur Henry , born 19/12/1898 and died 9/8/1974 in South Brent, Devon, age 75. (4) Maude Pretoria , born 6/4/1900 and died 19/12/1990 in Goodhayes Hospital, Ilford, Essex, age 90. (5) Gwendoline May , born about 1903 and died in 1937 in Maidstone, age 34. (6) William Henry , born 17/4/1904 and died in 1982 in Reading, age 78. (7) Ernest Frank Henry , born 6/3/1907 and died 7/6/2003 in Worthing, age 96. (8) Cyril Frederick Henry , born about 1909 and died in 1926 in Snodland, age 17. (9) Eric George , born 26/7/1910 and died in January 1987 in Gipping and Hartismere, Suffolk, age 76. 7. Albert Henry HARRIS [ Parents ]. Born 13/11/1869 in Snodland, Albert died in November 1945 in Maidstone, age 76. He was buried 29/11/1945 in All Saints Church, Birling. Occupation: Bargeman. On 25/12/1893, when Albert was age 24, he married Alice SUNNUCKS , daughter of Henry SUNNUCKS and Mary Ann GILES , in All Saints Church, Birling. Alice was born 20/9/1873 in Hadlow and died in April 1945, age 71. She was buried 17/4/1945 in All Saints Church, Birling. They had the following children, all born Birling: (1) Albert Henry , born 8/1/1894 and died 13/8/1975, age 81. In 1936, when Albert was age 42, he married Ivy Emmeline CARPENTER (1903-1974) in Maidstone. (2) Thomas Arthur , born about 1896 and died in 1966 in Maidstone, age 70. (3) Alice Ellen , born 18/11/1897 and died in 1981 in Maidstone, age 83. On 25/12/1919, when Alice was age 22, she married Leopold Geoffrey Victor GOWER (1892-1980) in All Saints Church, Birling. (4) Caroline Ladysmith , born 28/1/1900 and died in 1942 in Maidstone, age 42. On 25/12/1923, when Caroline was age 23, she married Frederick Arthur WALLIS (1903-1997) in All Saints Church, Birling. (5) Joe , born 8/6/1903 and died in 1972 in Maidstone, age 69. (6) William Henry , born about 1906 and died 8/11/1942 in Maidstone, age 36. (7) Mary Ann , born 1/9/1907 and died January 1927 in Sidcup, age 19. She was buried 22/1/1927 in All Saints Church, Birling. (8) Emma , born 2/2/1910 and died in May 1993 in Maidstone, age 83. In September 1941, when Emma was age 31, she married Charles William Percival PECK (1911-1956) in All Saints, Birling. 8. Frederick Henry HARRIS [ Parents ]. Born 22/2/1874 in Snodland, it’s not known when Frederick died. Occupation: Labourer. In 1896, when Frederick was age 22, he married Rose Ann EVANS in Malling. Rose Ann was born 16/5/1875 in Ryarsh. It is not known when she died. They had the following children, all born Snodland: (1) Frederick Henry , born 1896. (2) Gladys Florence , born 1898. (3) Dorothy Elizabeth , born 1900. (4) Edith Maud , born about 1903. (5) Eulalie Mary , born about 1905. (6) Percy John , born 1906. (7) Frank Albert , born 9/3/1909 and baptized 9/2/1936 in St Thomas Mount, Madras, India, age 26. Frank Albert died 1978 in Maidstone, age 69. On 10/3/1927, when Frank Albert was age 18, he joined the army. He served in the Suffolk Regiment (number 5824303) in India (on the north-west frontier), and Singapore where he was captured by the Japanese on 15/2/1942. He survived internment (11 camps in all) and was liberated on 13/9/1945.

4. William HARRIS [ Parents ]. Baptized 29/3/1835 in Halling, William died in 1896, also in Halling, age 60. In 1858, when William was age about 23, he married Mary Ann PRYER . Born in 1839 in West Malling, Mary Ann died 1896 in Halling, age about 58. They had the following children, all born in Halling: (1) William John [ 9 ] . (2) John , born 25/7/1861. It is not known when he died. On 26/7/1879, when John was age 18, he married Martha ACCLETON (1861-1957) in the Parish Church, Luddesdown. They had no children. (3) Thomas , born 1863. It is not known when she died. They had the following children, all born Snodland: (1) Frederick Henry , born 1896. (2) Gladys Florence , born 1898. (3) Dorothy Elizabeth , born 1900. (4) Edith Maud , born about 1903. (5) Eulalie Mary , born about 1905. (6) Percy John , born 1906. (7) Frank Albert , born 9/3/1909 and baptized 9/2/1936 in St Thomas Mount, Madras, India, age 26. Frank Albert died 1978 in Maidstone, age 69. On 10/3/1927, when Frank Albert was age 18, he joined the army.
