Steve and Pauline Jones’ Family History
If you don’t know where you came from, you won’t know where you are going. You have to study your history. Gil Scott-Heron

The Beadle Family of Hadlow, Kent

The Beadle family were from the village of Hadlow, situated in the Medway valley, Kent. There are several links by marriage other Kentish families in which we have an interest: Parris, Roots and Monk. The picture is of John Thomas Beadle (1859-1928) and his family (tap/click to enlarge). It was probably taken around 1903. John married Ellen Ann Wooden (1862-1931) in 1888. Their three children were Frank who was born on Christmas Day 1890 in Snodland and died during the influenza pandemic in 1918. Edith May was born 1 September 1894 and died on 3 August 1975 in Greenhithe, Kent. The youngest, Hilda Maud, was born 28 April 1900 and died 14 March 1981 in Greenwich. (With thanks to Frank's grand-daughter Pamela Jordan for the photo.) We have much more information to share about the Beadle family, over six generations, starting with Charles Beadle (1794-1864).
