79. Frederick CHAPPLE [ Parents ]. Born 14/1/1880 in Axminster, Frederick died in 1963, age about 82. In 1881, when Frederick was age 21, he married May LUMLEY in Fulham. May was born 12/11/1880 in Kensington and died 1943, age about 62. They had the following children, both born in Fulham: (1) Frederick John Cecil , born 1903. (2) Lilian Beatrice Ruth , born 1909. 80. William Thomas CHAPPLE [ Parents ]. Born 28/4/1868 in Shoreditch and died in October 1909 in Islington, age 41. William Thomas was buried 9/10/1909 in Islington. On 10/5/1901 he arrived in Montreal, Canada from Liverpool with his brother Albert. He had returned to England by 1908 - his daughter Ivy was born in London - but there’s no trace in the passenger list records of the return leg. On 6/10/1894, when William Thomas was age 26, he married Josephine MERRICK (1868-?), daughter of Charles MERRICK , a Florist, in St Barnabas' Church, Islington. On 24/10/1901, when Josephine was age about 33, she arrived in Montreal from Liverpool aboard the Tunisian. Again, there’s no trace of a record for the return leg. They had the following children: (1) Maud Kate , born around August/September 1895 in Islington and baptized 22/9/1895 in St Thomas’ church, Finsbury Park. It’s not known when she died. (2) William Charles , born 23/8/1898 in Shoreditch and baptized 25/6/1899 in St John’s church, Hoxton. William died in October 1899 in Shoreditch and was buried 31/10/1899 in Newham. (3) Sidney Thomas , born 6/1/1900 in Shoreditch and baptized 4/2/1900 in St John’s church, Hoxton. Sidney died around May 1900 in Shoreditch and was buried 3/6/1900 in Newham. (4) Ivy Susannah Josephine , born 22/6/1908 in Islington and baptized 9/8/1908 in St Stephen’s church, Islington. Ivy died in March 1910 and was buried 26/3/1910 in Islington. 81. Arthur CHAPPLE [ Parents ]. Born 6/7/1870 in Hackney and baptized 18/2/1872 in St Leonard’s, Shoreditch. Arthur died 17/11/1946 in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, age 76. He emigrated to Canada in 1907, arriving in Quebec on 23 June from Liverpool, on board the Southwark. On 5/8/1894, when Arthur was 23, he married Elizabeth Catherine WARREN (1874-1938), daughter of Amos WARREN , a brewer’s labourer, at St Andrew’s Church, Bethnal Green, London. They had the following children: (1) Arthur Ernest [ 95 ] . (2) Albert Edward , born 17/5/1897 in London and died 25/1/1921 in Nelson (now Burlington), Ontario, age 23. Albert served in the Canadian Overseas Expeditionary Force  during WW1, 86th machine gun battery, Regimental number 174821. He was accepted for military service 5/10/1915. On 12/2/1921, when Elizabeth Katherine was age 21, she married Albert Edward George ABEL (1901-1980) in Wentworth, Ontario. (4) Florence Emma , born 19/8/1900 in London and died about 1980 in Hamilton, age 79. (5) William Henry [ 96 ] . (6) Rose Lilian , born 13/9/1906 in London and died about 1990, age 83. On 30/1/1937, when Rose Lilian was age 30, she married Robert William MAULL (1904-?) in Hamilton. (7) Amy Clara , born 6/7/1908 in Oshawa, Ontario and died about 1998 in Hamilton, age 89. (8) Walter Henry , born 31/10/1909 in Oshawa, Ontario and died 2/3/1989 in Hamilton, age 79. On 4/9/1937 when Walter was age 27, he married widow Lavern Gertrude LANG (nee SMITH 1917-1986) in Brockville, Ontario. 82. Charles Frederick CHAPPLE [ Parents ]. Born on 28/1/1872 in Hackney and baptized 18/2/1872 at St Leonard’s, Shoreditch. Charles Frederick died 14/6/1949, age 77 and was buried 16/6/1949 in Abney Park Cemetery, Stoke Newington. Occupation: Wire worker. On 1/4/1896 when Charles Frederick was 24, he married Emily BAKER , daughter of George A. BAKER and Emily COCHRANE , in Shoreditch. Born 6/1/1872 in Shoreditch, Emily Chapple died on 3/10/1932, age 60 and was buried 10/10/1932 in Abney Park Cemetery, Stoke Newington. They had the following children: (1) Violet Emily , born 24/11/1896 in Shoreditch and baptized 20/12/1896 at St Leonards, Shoreditch. Violet died 4/3/1990 in Truro, age 93. In 1925, when Violet Emily was age 28, she married Edgar Orland MOBBS , son of William Orland MOBBS and Alice ASHPOLE . Edgar was born 5/10/1901 in Islington and baptized 1/12/1901 at St Paul's, Canonbury, Islington. Their children may still be alive. (2) Dorothy Catherine , born July 1899 in Bethnal Green and baptized 2/8/1899 at St Andrew, Bethnal Green. She died in January 1927 in St Pancras, London, age 27. (3) Ivy May , born 9/4/1902 in Edmonton. Ivy May died 24/1/1993 in Ware, Hertfordshire, age 90. On 27/12/1923, when Ivy May was 21, she married Alfred Thomas JOHNSON , son of James Robert JOHNSON and Frances Elizabeth PARRIS , at Hackney Register Office. (4) Olive Grace , born on 4/7/1907 in Edmonton and died 17/2/2000, age 92. On 10/7/1928, when Olive Grace was 21, she married William Albert STUART (1906-1984) in St Pancras. (5) Charles George William [ 97 ] . (6) Frederick [ 98 ] . 83. Walter Henry CHAPPLE [ Parents ]. Born 26/3/1879 in Mile End, London and baptized 4/5/1879 at St Leonard’s, Shoreditch. Walter Henry died 1970 in Lewes, Sussex, age about 90. On 3/8/1902, when Walter Henry was age 22, he married Clara Emma BROADRICK , daughter of Bartholomew and Sarah BROADRICK , in Holy Trinity Church, Gray's Inn Road, London. Clara Emma was born 4/10/1879 in Peckham and baptized 23/8/1881 in Holy Trinity Church. She died in 1955 in Uxbridge, age 75. They had the following children, all born in Shoreditch: (1) Walter Henry , born 16/3/1903 and died November 1999 in Lewes, age 96. In 1936, when Walter Henry was age 33, he married Ethel Isabella Rose SMITH in Uxbridge. Ethel was born 3/7/1904 and died February 2001 in Lewes, age 96. (2) John , born 25/6/1905 and died November 1998 in Eastbourne, age 93. In 1938, when John was age 33, he married Lilian Maud MORRIS in Uxbridge. Lilian Maud was born 27/8/1911 and died 7/9/2009 in Seaford, age 98. (3) Clara Emma , born 10/8/1907 and died 1/8/2000 in Lewes, age 92. In 1930, when Clara was age about 23. she married Walter Harry DUNFORD (1905-1986) in Uxbridge. 84. James CHAPPLE [ Parents ]. Born 1848 in Beer and baptized there 9/7/1848. James died 1903, age 55. Occupation: Mariner. On 24/3/1868 when James was age about 20, he married Elizabeth LEYMAN , in Seaton and Beer. Born in 1847, Elizabeth died in November 1910 in Beer, age about 63, and was buried 28/11/1910 at St Michael, Beer. They had the following children: (1) Robert James [ 99 ] . (2) William Henry [ 100 ] . (3) Christopher Charles , born on or about 30/5/1874 in Beer and baptized there 5/7/1874. He died in July 1874 and was buried 18/7/1874 in Beer. (4) Charles , born 4/1/1876 in Beer and baptized there 5/6/1876. He died 2/10/1959 in Exeter, age 83. On 12/2/1907, when Charles was age 31, he married Gertrude Ellen ADCOCK (1883-1936), daughter of Francis ADCOCK , a Gas Fitter, in St Michael, Beer. (5) Harold , born 24/8/1877 in Beer and baptized there 7/10/1877. Harold died 17/8/1942 in Exminster, age 63. On 6/2/1905, when Harold was age 27, he married Minnie Searle MOORE (1884-1910), daughter of John Harry MOORE , a Vintner, in St Michael, Beer. In 1923, when Harold was age 46, he married Florence Winifred WAGLAND (1891- 1963) in Honiton. (6) Frank Cecil , born 23 Aug 1886 in Beer and died 30/3/1942 in Bangour, Broxburn, West Lothian, serving in the Royal Navy on board HMS Lochinvar where he was Chief Petty Officer. Frank was buried in Balgay Cemetery, Dundee. Cause of death: (1) Cholemesis (2) Cirrhosis Hepatitis (3) Cardiac Failure. (7) Frederick Percy [ 101 ] .
